Kit List:
To keep walkers safe, individuals and teams must comply with the kit list below. Kit will be checked before the start of the Marathon and walkers will not be permitted to start without full kit.
Kit check will be open from 3pm. Please allow 30 minutes before the 5pm start to complete your kit check.
Each person must carry:
- Suitable footwear – must be suitable for rough and wet terrain (The organisers reserve the right to insist that walkers wear ‘BOOTS’ if adverse conditions prevail on the day)
Long, warm trousers – no jeans
Waterproof Jacket
Overtrousers
Jumper
Gloves
Warm hat
Spare woollen/Hiking socks
Emergency food supply
Survival bag (not lightweight)
Individual First aid kit (For minor injuries, blisters etc
Torch – with spare batteries and bulb (if not LED0
Reflective Waistcoat
Reflective leg bands

Each team must carry a Sleeping bag, Compass, Maps (OS 1/25000 Explorer No.179
Where 2 or more teams walk together in a group, each team must have the kit above
During the hike each member is expected to carry their own food in addition to an emergency food pack. At most checkpoints there will be squash available. Some checkpoints will serve hot drinks.
